These valves are used for control of components which
are required to assume a safe postion when exhausted
(e.g. spring-loaded clutches and brakes on mechanical
presses). The combination with the electrical press control
must meet the EN 692 and EN 954-1 (Catagory 4)
requirements. In the case of other applications, the relevant
regulations of the safety authorities concerned
The valves of Series XSz fulfill the requirements for selfmonitoring
Pressurization at working port A occurs only when both
valve systems are activated synchonously. In the case
of a fault affecting one of the two valve systems (e.g.
due to mechanical jamming), port A is not pressurized.
Self-monitoring is carried out each time the system is
switched on. If a fault occurs during the switch-off
phase, port A is reliably exhausted via the second valve
system. If the fault persists, the valve is not pressurizedduring a re-start.
When changing the valves, the sealing surfaces must be clean and the seals must be properly positioned.
Observe the specified tightening torques for the screws! Prior to commissioning, a test must be carried out according to the operating instructions
and test instructions (see page 18).
3) Oil recommendation: Shell Hydrol DO 32, Esso Febis K 32 (as of 07/92) or similar oils with DVI values < 8 (DIN 53521) and
ISO viscosity class 32-46 (DIN 51519).
